Dr. Kendra Boyd, Assistant Professor of History, received the Clark-McClintock-Gershenson Subvention Award for her forthcoming monograph Freedom Enterprise: Racial Capitalism and Black Entrepreneurship in Great Migration Detroit, from the University of Pennsylvania Press. Dr. Boyd is also a recipient of the Rutgers Research Council Award for “Recovering Black Bottom: Mapping Black Business Loss Caused by Urban Redevelopment in Detroit, MI.”
