Recent Faculty Accomplishments to Note: Lorrin Thomas
Dr. Lorrin Thomas along with her co-author Aldo Lauria Santiago will be celebrating the one-year anniversary of the publication of their book Rethinking the Struggle for Puerto Rican Rights (Routledge, 2018) at an event on October 5. The event will be hosted at Taller Puertorriqueño, Philadelphia’s oldest Puerto Rican cultural organization. Dr. Thomas and Aldo Lauria Santiago will tell stories about their collaboration on this project that stretched over five years and talk with Johnny Irizarry, director of La Casa Latina at the University of Pennsylvania, about how they hope the book will contribute to debates about the politics of civil rights in the United States.
