Dr. Rodney Carlisle, Emeritus Professor of History (Professor at Rutgers, 1966-2000), with his wife and co-author Loretta Carlisle, have completed work on their newest text, Savannah in History, which is now in press (and is available for pre-order!) with Globe-Pequot, a subsidiary of Rowman-Littlefield.

Additionally, Johns Hopkins University Press is issuing a new edition, now in press, of Dr. Carlisle’s Supplying the Nuclear Arsenal: American Production Reactors, 1942-1992, originally publiched in 1996.

Dr. Carlisle and Loretta are currently working on their next project, Tallahassee in History, which will be published by Pineapple Press. The couple’s former books on St. Augustine, Key West, Tampa and Charleston were all through Pineapple. Dr. Carlisle is aiming for a late 2019/early 2020 publication date for this next volume.
After recounting his many accomplishments, Dr. Carlisle also offered some advice and insight into his post-academia-life: “My recommendation to any historian who retires from academia is to keep on researching and publishing – not only is it rewarding, it is a lot of fun!”
Congratulations, Dr. Carlisle! We look forward to hearing of your continued successes.
