RECENT FACULTY ACCOMPLISHMENTS TO NOTE: andrew shankman

Dr. Andrew Shankman, a Professor of History here at Rutgers University-Camden, was named the Editor of The Journal of the Early Republic at the annual meeting of the Society for the Historians of the Early American Republic. 

Next month, Dr. Shankman will speak on the topic “Anglicization” on the panel “A Discussion of Rethinking America: From Empire to Republic” at the Organization for American Historians (OAH) Annual Conference in Philadelphia. Additionally, he will chair the panel “The American Revolution: Getting the Best New Scholarship to the Public.”

Dr. Shankman has also been named as the keynote speaker at Power and Democracy: CUNY Graduate Center Early American Republic Seminar Fifth Annual Conference, held in May of 2019. His Keynote Address is titled, “Daniel Raymond, Mathew Carey, The Missouri Crisis, and the Global 1820s.” Dr. Shankman gave a shorter version of that same paper at an invited conference on the Missouri Crisis, co-sponsored by the CUNY Graduate Center and the Rufus King Manor, held in New York City on March 22, 2019.
